About me

I am a translator and transcreator interested in creating, translating, and editing material written in English and adapting it to Spanish. I am a native of Guatemala in Central America. I have lived in a number of cities of the Americas, including the Caribbean, Indonesia in southeast Asia and Ethiopia in eastern Africa. Currently I reside in the United States of America. I have performed well—both in work and in social settings—in a variety of cultures and in languages different from my own. My diverse background includes work in international development and international humanitarian child-focused programs. I have also served as the editor of a student magazine, and as a trainer and recruiter of Latina leaders in the USA. My specialty is to translate, transcreate, edit and adapt materials from English into Spanish, principally in the areas of women’s social development. I have a Master’s degree in Human Geography from The Ohio State University, and a Bachelor’s degree in Business and Information Technology from Universidad Francisco Marroquín in Guatemala. Presently, my husband and I are working on our most ambitious project: to raise our daughters in a bi-cultural and bilingual home.
